The short version: Shopify sets the cookies that make the store work. We add a little storage in your own browser so your saved records and recently viewed list survive a reload. No ad networks, no cross-site trackers, and your saved list never leaves your browser. That's the whole story — the rest of this page is just the same thing with more words.

Essential cookies (Shopify)

Our store runs on Shopify, which sets first-party cookies that the shop can't function without: keeping your cart together (cart), holding a session (_shopify_s, _shopify_y), securing checkout (secure_customer_sig) and remembering your country/currency (localization). Shopify also uses its session cookies for its own store analytics — order counts, traffic, which records get looked at — which is how we know anyone visited at all. That reporting stays inside Shopify and inside our own account.

Storage we add

Three small entries in your browser's own storage, all first-party, none of them sent to us or anyone else:

hc_wantlist

The records you hit SAVE on. Lives in this browser until you clear it (or clear your browsing data). Never transmitted — we genuinely cannot see your wantlist.

sb_recently_viewed

The handles of the last records you looked at, so the "Recently viewed" row works. Capped at 20, only in your browser.

hc_consent

Only written if you turn the convenience storage off below, so we can remember that for a year and stop writing it.

Audio previews

Track previews stream straight from Apple's servers (iTunes previews) when you press play. Apple sees that request the way any server sees any request; we set nothing and learn nothing from it.

What we don't do

No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, no selling or sharing of data. Nothing here follows you to another website, because nothing here is anyone else's code. If that ever changes, this page changes first — and a banner asking permission comes with it.

Why there's no cookie popup

Because everything above is either strictly necessary to run a shop or a convenience stored only in your own browser, and none of it is shared with anybody. A banner demanding consent for that would be theatre — a click you have to make before you're allowed to look at records, in exchange for nothing. So we wrote it down here instead, in full, and left the switch where you can actually find it.

Your choices

Turn off the convenience storage below and the recently-viewed row stops recording. Clear your browser data any time — your saved records go with it, which is the trade of keeping that list in your browser instead of behind an account. Or block cookies wholesale in your browser settings, though checkout won't survive without the essential ones.
